Say hello to all the players who have been searching for a truly deep video tycoon game for years. I had that wish too. However, almost all the games I 've found have some sort of unpleasant compromise. Some games simplify the chip design to a few basic sliders and a single performance value. Some games use a preset market mechanism that will hardly react to your design. So I started making a game that I wanted to play myself. Here, you can design your own CPUs and GPUs, configure their architecture, and build the actual chip layout. But creating chips is just the beginning. Your processor will continue to exist in the game world. A laptop manufacturer may decide to use it for new devices. If the cooling system is not strong enough, the chip may overheat and drop frequency at high loads. Its performance depends on the games, programs, operating systems, and workloads it runs on. The market will react to all of this. Journalists may criticize your new processor for being overpriced or only slightly faster than the previous generation. Customers may like its efficiency, may hate its software support, or simply think your competitors offer better prices. A technically impressive chip doesn't necessarily automatically make a successful product. Hardware also requires software. You can develop your own instruction set architecture and operating system. You need to improve multithreading, browser performance, software compatibility, and online services. Designing the best chip is only half the battle. Building an ecosystem around it is the really hard part. The game also includes semiconductor factories, process node development, and many AI controlled competitors with different strategies and personalities. I'm not going to pretend that every system is already working perfectly. The game is still evolving and many parts are improving. But these systems already exist, they interact with each other, and the games are getting closer and closer to the electronic tycoon games I have been looking for for years.
